Omnibook published, as its subtitle explains, authorized abridgements of contemporary best-selling novels. Syd’s cover for the October, 1946 issue is inspired by a scene from William Saroyan’s The Adventures of Wesley Jackson, viz. Chapter 74: “John Wynstanley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Puts on a Straw Hat and Plays the Trombone, Enchanting Enemy and Friend Alike.”
